I am a market editor, which is not the same as being in marketing (some people mix these up), though many skills overlap. It means I have a specific area of coverage that is my expertise. The bulk of my work has revolved around home decor products, accessories, furnishings, gifts, and decoration & design, which are the areas I'm most passionate about. In the past, I have also written travel and relationship stories.
I am available for freelance projects on a national and local (Syracuse, NY) level. Please note, I am located in Syracuse, NY, but I have successfully produced market pages for a major national (New York, NY-based) magazine via telecommuting.

Here's an extremely abbreviated list of random facts about me: I've always wanted to be a spy or an investigator. And in a way, I am. But if I weren't doing this, I'd like to solve crimes.
In 8th grade, I worked on the student newspaper and wrote a horoscope column under the name Madame Ouija. Only the staff knew it was me, but all our classmates thought the horoscopes were super accurate. So, that should probably tell you something about horoscopes. Or that I'm omniscient. I dance in the aisles and sing out loud to the piped-in music at grocery stores. And by grocery stores, I mean nearly everywhere I go.
I read *Les Miserables entirely in French when I was in 6th grade. I hadn't started French classes yet, so I probably missed a few details here and there, but I knew the story well enough to get by.
I wish I were multilingual, but I'm not. I know basic French, MTA-subway-sign Spanish, a bit of Italian, and I can also count to 10 in Korean and tell you to bow to your Tae Kwon Do instructor, should that come up.
I am also mom to two small, funny people (nicknamed Cupcake and Sunshine), and wife to a very patient man. They might pop up here and there.
Also, because it often confuses people: My full, legal, and much misspelled last name is Bleier Long (Bleier: two Es, one I, rhymes with flier). It is not Long, or even Bieber Long, as I once received on a Fashion Week invitation that I definitely saved and immediately shared on Twitter. (Addressing me correctly goes a long way!)
